The record at Tamarack is not just about length. On September 9, Talon Metals published assay results from the longest drill interval in the project's history — and the six metals it returned made the grades the story.
The interval runs 46.43 metres, grading 13.37% nickel and 16.54% copper. Those two figures alone would constitute a notable result. Across the same stretch of core, platinum came back at 14.49 grams per tonne, palladium at 7.85 grams per tonne and gold at 8.56 grams per tonne, according to Talon's September 9 release. Cobalt was also present throughout.
Buried within that interval is a tighter section: 26.22 metres grading 14.95% nickel and 17.85% copper, with platinum and gold also higher than the broader average.
Shares closed 33.79% higher at $8.0945, on dollar volume of about $12.9 million.
The hole was drilled about 50 metres southwest of the original Vault Zone discovery hole, confirmed in May 2025. That step-out matters: it shows the mineralised system reaches laterally, not just downward, and that grades like these are not confined to the single hole that first found them.
"Any one of these grades will get your attention," said Brian Goldner, Talon's Chief Exploration Officer, in the release. "To see nickel, copper, cobalt, platinum, palladium, and gold all concentrated at these levels in the same rock is particularly significant."
The Vault Zone sits below Tamarack's existing resource estimate, so any confirmed extension of it adds ground the current resource numbers do not yet capture. Talon says further step-out drilling is under way, guided by borehole electromagnetic surveys. How far the zone extends — sideways and at depth — is the question that will determine whether this intercept changes the resource picture or remains a particularly rich corner of it.
