Predictiv AI Inc. said on April 14, 2026 that it has received its first client order for Shiftmatics, a vehicle-mounted data device it has been building in stages, and that stages 1 and 2 of the platform are complete. The company did not disclose the customer, the number of devices, or any dollar value attached to the order.
Shiftmatics is a telematics unit — hardware installed in a vehicle to record and transmit operating data. According to the release, the completed stages cover a production-ready device that captures high-frequency location data, vehicle telemetry such as speed, fuel consumption and driving behaviour, and environmental readings including temperature, pressure and humidity. The unit has onboard memory and backup power so that data survives connectivity or power loss.
Two further stages remain. Stage 3, described as in development, would add onboard cameras and local video storage. Stage 4, described only as future work, would move processing onto the device itself so that events can be detected and acted on without routing data through a cloud service. The company gave no timeline or budget for either stage.
On the order, the release says a request has been received from an initial client to deploy a first set of devices, with installation expected to begin shortly. Predictiv AI calls this the platform's first commercial use in a live operating environment. Because no unit count, contract value or delivery schedule is given, the order cannot be assessed as booked revenue on the basis of this disclosure.
The company positions Shiftmatics alongside two existing software products, ShiftFleet.ai and CloudRep.ai, and says the data the devices generate is expected to feed AI applications elsewhere in its product range. That is an expectation stated by the company, not a described arrangement.
"Shiftmatics was designed from the outset as more than a tracking device," said B.H. Sudantha, head of hardware and engineering.
Much of the announcement is framed around what the platform is intended to support later — predictive maintenance, driver behaviour analysis, semi-autonomous workflows and possible extensions into robotics. None of that is described as delivered.
The release contains no financial information at all: no cash position, no development spend on the hardware programme, no share count and no financing detail. Moving from software into hardware typically carries inventory, tooling and warranty costs, and the announcement does not address how those are funded.
Predictiv AI is based in Toronto and lists its shares in Canada and on the Frankfurt exchange under the ticker 7IT. The release refers to the Canadian listing as CSE:PAI, while the accompanying summary uses CVE:PAI.
