Eightco Holdings says it owns nearly 302 million Worldcoin tokens — about 8.3% of the token's circulating supply, the largest publicly disclosed institutional position in the asset, according to a press release the company filed with the SEC on September 3.

Eightco Holdings Inc. NASDAQ: ORBS

The company put its total treasury at roughly $380 million as of September 2, spread across four positions: about $90 million invested indirectly in OpenAI through special purpose vehicles, an $18 million equity stake in Beast Industries (the holding company behind MrBeast's YouTube operation), roughly $122 million in cash and stablecoins, and the Worldcoin holding. The Worldcoin figure uses a stated price of $0.37 per token as of that evening, per Coinbase.

For a shareholder, the company functions as a publicly traded wrapper around assets that are otherwise difficult to access: a liquid token, two private-company stakes, and cash. Two of the four positions — the OpenAI stake and the Beast Industries equity — have no liquid market price, and the release does not explain how either valuation was determined. The OpenAI exposure is held through third-party vehicles, not direct equity, which means Eightco has no involvement in how OpenAI is run and no guaranteed path to liquidity from that stake.

Shares closed 15.78% higher at $0.9698 on September 4, on dollar volume of about $28.5 million.

The company also said it bought back more than 25 million of its own shares over the past month under a previously announced $125 million repurchase program. Board member Tom Lee was quoted in the release saying the company "judged that accretively acquiring shares is a high return use of capital."

Holding 8.3% of a token's circulating supply is a concentrated position. The release does not say what Eightco paid for those tokens, when it accumulated them, or whether any restrictions apply to selling them.
