Foresight Autonomous Holdings makes systems that let machines see in three dimensions. This week it said it wants to make the ones that drive themselves.
The company's automotive subsidiary announced on September 18 a shift from perception-only tools to a complete autonomous driving platform — one that handles sensing, real-time AI decisions, and direct control of brakes and steering. The targets are operators of unmanned ground and aerial vehicles working in defense, agriculture, and heavy machinery.
Shares closed 16.04% higher at $1.2300 on September 21, on dollar volume of about $4.1 million.
For someone holding the stock, that shift is the thing to register. Foresight has been a sensor and perception company — a supplier of one layer of what autonomous vehicles need. A full autonomous stack puts it in a different business: responsible for the whole system working, not just one part of it. That is a larger market and a harder problem.
The new platform has three layers, according to the company's September 18 announcement: 3D sensing using visible light and thermal cameras; AI-driven decision-making in real time; and actuator control — meaning brakes and steering. A customer evaluation kit is targeted for the first half of 2027.
To lead the effort, Foresight Automotive named Shlomo Hillel as chief technology officer. The previous CTO, Levy Zruya, had resigned effective September 15. The company says Hillel brings 25 years of experience spanning computer vision, AI, sensor fusion, electro-optics, and autonomous platforms.
The announcement names no customers, discloses no budget for the programme, and gives no price for the kit.
