Brent crude, the international benchmark price for crude oil, and Microsoft, the US software company, both had their largest daily falls in months on November 2, 2026. Brent closed at 103.71 dollars a barrel, down 6.44 percent from 110.85. Microsoft closed at 507.12 dollars, down 2.83 percent from 521.91 on October 30.

For Brent, it was the largest daily fall since May 6, 2026. On a typical day since June 2018, the oil price moves about 1.07 percent. Any move of 3.53 percent or more ranks in the top 10 percent of its trading days, and this fall was nearly double that mark.

For Microsoft, it was the largest daily fall since August 17, 2026. The stock's typical daily change since January 2005 is 0.82 percent, and a move of 2.55 percent or more puts a day in its top 10 percent. Monday's drop cleared that line.
