A year ago, AtlasClear barely earned anything from helping broker-dealers locate shares their clients wanted to borrow for short selling. Last fiscal year, the company says it generated about $6.8 million from that business, up from about $0.3 million the year before, making it the single largest driver of an 85% jump in total revenue.
AtlasClear issued preliminary unaudited results on September 17 for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2026, showing total revenue of about $20.1 million. The locate business alone accounted for roughly 34% of that, according to the release. Two years ago the company says the service barely existed.
For a shareholder, two things frame what that growth produced. The company says it earned net income of about $2.0 million — its second straight profitable year, though the figure includes non-cash gains from changes in the fair value of financial instruments. And it did so without printing new shares: no dilutive capital raise since October 2025, the company says.
Cash roughly doubled, from about $7.5 million to about $15.4 million at June 30, 2026. Stockholders' equity swung from a deficit to about $21.1 million positive. The release does not itemise what drove the cash increase; the full 10-K is expected by September 28, 2026.
Shares closed 16.01% higher at $0.2000 on September 20, on dollar volume of about $428,000 across 3,304 trades.
The company has also signed agreements with six new correspondent broker-dealers — firms that outsource their clearing to AtlasClear — who are still in various stages of onboarding and conversion. None of their revenue appears in the fiscal 2026 figures. The company says it expects them to begin contributing during fiscal 2027, but those results are not yet in hand.
